Overview[]
Birdy_bee, Birdy or MJ is an Azmarrian member that is definitely learning the crux of technical Minecraft as she goes, but is having fun doing so. She worked together with Rosescape_ to create the community of Azmarr and establish its location. As well she was to the one to come up with the name of this community: “ The Edge of Azmar”. MJ has also created a wonderful Azmarr-core playlist on Spotify that captures the unique aesthetic of the group she's been a part of since day one of its founding.
Lore[]
Darkness consumes all, ends all, with a silent whisper. Azmarr was a wasteland forgotten to time as a myth. Where suffering and violence were the only universal language of the people, under the corrupted king. When the kind act of a stranger produced a ripple effect; spurring new life into the people of Azmarr to fight back.
During my childhood, I was raised by my grandparents during a time that the town was starting to flourish. Side by side with my childhood friends Rosescape and GameThyme, we looked forward to greener pastures. Our only worries were the scrapes and bruises we got from the “adventures” we went on.
When I was fourteen, my grandparents passed away after getting sick from an abnormal infection. I still remember their ashen faces, their purple hazed eyes, their trembling blue lips, as they lay dying in the upstairs room of our home. In the end I only got a half-hearted explanation from the village doctor: it was a terminal illness from a toxic mineral, there was no cure.
I didn’t believe him, but there was nothing I could do.
Life blurred together after that, trying to stay afloat while being on my own. And running experiments on the “toxic mineral” to find out more information.
It was almost exactly three years later during such experiments that GameThyme had come barging into my decrypted home in a flurry of panic. With glimpses of blood-stain hands, and dots splattered along his face. Speaking quick words of guidance, before rushing back out into the streets. “Run! Run and don’t look back.”
Quickly grabbing my work satchel, I swept the important items and my book of research from the house.
And I ran, ran, ran, ran, and ran till my legs gave out in a strange new land.
And as I lay unconscious in the sand, a kind alchemist found me when foraging for materials. Dragging me back to their home in which I spent the next few years studying as an apprentice, helping around their shop to show my gratitude for saving me. I learned to brew potions, create salves, and continue my research with new knowledge.
I had discovered that this Toxic mineral was “corrupted waste” that was spreading silently through the farms and plants of Azmar. Overtime I had become immune to the harmful effect of the material. But that didn’t stop the physical changes from manifesting themselves. Purple eyes, and blue tinted lips became the normal features I saw reflected back to me. But I knew either way that I could help the people of my home. With such knowledge, and a sorrowful heart I knew I had to go back, to help, to aid.
So sending a letter ahead to Rosescape, I set out to help rebuild, to aid in anyways I could.
In the first few days of my arrival, it was wonderful to see everyone again. To work together, to create with no end.
But….
As time dragged on the anger, and hate grew between us. Arguments and fights about minor ideas or plans became the normal way of conversing.
As such, we weren’t getting anything done,
Corruption was spreading,
And I…
Was happy.
Azmarr will fall again! Darkness was the beginning and Darkness will be the end. It will consume all, end all, with the silent whisper,
“Hi Gamethyme, Rosecape. I’m here to help!”
